We commonly support adults, adolescents, and children experiencing ADHD, addiction, anxiety and panic symptoms, bipolar disorder, depression and mood changes, insomnia, stress, burnout, and life transitions.If you’re unsure whether your concerns fall within our scope, we’re happy to help clarify before you schedule.

We offer both psychotherapy and medication management. Some patients engage in one, others in a combination—care is tailored to what’s clinically appropriate and aligned with your goals.

We provide psychiatric care for adults, adolescents, and children. Care is tailored to each patient’s developmental stage, family context, and individual needs.

How are parents involved in a child’s care?

For children and adolescents, parents or guardians are involved in the intake process and treatment planning. As appropriate, care also includes direct time with the child to ensure treatment feels respectful and supportive.

What happens during an appointment?

Each visit we focus on understanding you—your history, current concerns, and why you are here. There’s time for questions, discussion, and clarity around next steps. Our goal is for you to leave feeling oriented and supported, not overwhelmed.

How long are appointments?

Initial psychiatric assessments are 60 minutes. Follow-up appointments are 30 minutes, depending on need.

Do you prescribe medications?

Yes, when clinically appropriate. Medication decisions are made collaboratively and reviewed regularly. Not every patient needs medication, and medication is never the only option discussed.

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

In some cases, yes. Prescribing decisions are individualized and may include additional guidelines, monitoring, or coordination with other providers.

Can you coordinate care with my primary care provider, therapist, or school?

Yes. With your permission, we’re happy to coordinate care with other providers, therapists, or schools to support continuity and alignment.

Is Obsidian Psychiatry a crisis or emergency service?

Obsidian Psychiatry does not provide crisis care or emergency services. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
